My name is Brandy Bowers and my son Bradyn was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Apr 26 2006 when he was only 3 years old...after a month of chemo treatment he suffered a stroke which is a rare but serious side effect to the chemo. he went from being a 3yr old to a 7 month old over night. He wasn’t able to talk, walk, and ended up in diapers again. The doctors found a fungal infection on his brain and multiple blood clots. He began to developed seizures and with the help of doctors and specialist he was able to learn to walk and talk again...but not until a year or so later. He continued to have seizures due to the blood clots on his brain and then he was diagnosed with Endocarditic. He has a defective heart valve and was at home on iv antibiotics for a long period of time. During these years of him being ill I was trying to work and also raise my other 3 children whose ages are 15, 13, and 9...due to lots of time taken off work I was unable to keep the job I had and didn't know where to turn...My bills were all behind and I was given Nina’s number from a fellow friend who had similar circumstances...As soon as I called Nina she was so willing to help...The school year was just beginning and I was very concerned about how I was going to get the kids every thing they needed...She helped me with some money to help get them all what they needed...along with groceries and a few gas cards to help get me back and forth to my sons appointments...God has his people everywhere and Nina is definitely where she needs to be. She and her fellow associates have very big hearts and lots of compassion. Thank you all so much for helping us get through such trying circumstances...on a lighter note Bradyn...whose nickname is "Beeda" has had a great recovery...He had his last round of chemo on July 7th of this year...He runs around and plays and is very active...He started 1st grade and turned 7 yrs old on Oct.7th...He was never able to go to his make a wish trip due to being so sick...but Make a Wish reinstated his wish and we are going to Walt Disney world...on the 27th of this month and we will be staying a week at Give the Kids the World Village...He also wanted to be able to go to chucky cheese for his 7th birthday...Due to finances we were unable to go but our wish granters decided to make the wish announcement at Chucky Cheese! Our situation has had a wonderful outcome and I'm grateful for all the people that God brought in our paths way..
